"It's about time."

That's the tagline for the new season of "Doctor Who," the first that will feature a woman in the title role in the more than 50-year history of the British sci-fi series.

There's a lot riding on Jodie Whittaker, the actress stepping into the Doctor's illustrious shoes, but if the first full trailer for Season 11 of the series is any indication, she's having the time of her life as the new incarnation of the time-traveling alien.

The trailer, set to "Glorious" by Macklemore featuring Skylar Grey, is a rocking good time showing viewers the new planets and adventures the Doctor will embark upon, as well as her new companions, Ryan (Tosin Cole), Yasmin (Mandip Gill) and Graham (Bradley Walsh).

"Doctor Who" premieres Oct. 7 on BBC America.
