Rejoice, 90s music lovers: NSYNC has reunited.

But the band members didn't necessarily get together to put on a concert or to produce new music.

The boy band met up to celebrate JC Chasez's 40th birthday.

Justin Timberlake, who was the first to break away from the group, posted a photo of the meetup on Instagram, garnering more than 500,000 likes.

"And, if you don't know now you know," the singer captioned the photo.

NSYNC reportedly got its name after Justin Timberlake's mother said the singers' voices were "in sync," and also as a play on the last letter of each of the members' names: JustiN, ChriS, JoeY, JasoN, and JC.

The group members, who ranged in age from 15-25 at the group's inception in 1996, are now between 35 and 44. Timberlake was the group's youngest member, and Chris Kirkpatrick is the oldest.
