Jennifer Garner is in town shooting a film called "The Odd Life of Timothy Green," but it's not the first time Mrs. Ben Affleck has worked here. In 1994, she was an acting intern during Georgia Shakespeare's Summer Festival. During that summer, she appeared in the chorus of "Shrew: The Musical" and played Jessica in "The Merchant of Venice" and the fairies in "A Midsummer Night's Dream." Her duties included entertaining, with the other interns, the pre-show picnic crowd by going from table to table singing songs and reciting Shakespearean sonnets to guests. She even helped a guy propose to his girlfriend! The folks at Georgia Shakespeare, including co-founder and producing artistic director Richard Garner (no relation), would love to say hello to their former starlet. So Jen, if you're reading this, have your people call their people.

Best wishes to baby Blais

Richard Blais, of "Top Chef" fame nationally and Flip Burger Boutique fame locally, dutifully kept his Twitter followers apprised of his activities over the weekend. He and his wife, Jazmin, were at Piedmont Hospital -- having a baby. "I'm at Piedmont Hospital in the labor and delivery wing," he tweeted early Saturday morning. Within a few hours he posted a photo of their brand-new addition, Embry Lotus Blais, and then it was onto brainstorming menu ideas. "The hospital has further increased my new obsession with cream of chicken soup," he posted. "There's a ravioli working in my head." And lest we forget Blais' work on the Science Channel, he observed, "The hospital in general is inspiring. Lots of gadgets and tools. Fascinating!"

Say what?

“I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of its anthem still came through.”

- Christina Aguilera, in a statement shortly after botching the words to the "The Star-Spangled Banner" prior to the Super Bowl.

Tweet of the day

"Y’all leave Christina alone."

- Former Falcons player and new Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, rushing to Aguilera's defense as her unfortunate performance became immediate fodder for social-media pundits.
