After much back and forth, Kesha took the stage Sunday with musician Ben Folds at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards.
There was debate about whether the singer would use it as an opportunity to make a statement about her ongoing legal battle with her record label, the head of which she says sexually assaulted her.
Instead, she did an acoustic performance of Bob Dylan's "It Ain't Me Babe" accompanied only by a violin and piano.
Perhaps Kesha did not have to say much, since she poured out emotion in the song, nearly sounding like she was going to cry.
The performance was well-received and Kesha got a standing ovation for her performance.
