Hugh Jackman confirmed he is hanging up his claws after the next Wolverine movie on The Dr. Oz Show Thursday.
“This will be my last one,” Jackman said. “It felt like it was the right time to do it. And let’s be honest, 17 years. I never thought in a million years it would last this long, so I’m grateful to the fans and for the opportunity of playing it.”
In March, Jackman posted a photo to Instagram with the caption: "WOLVERINE ... ONE LAST TIME. HJ"
The untitled Wolverine sequel is expected to be released in 2017, according to IMDb.com.
“I kind of have in my head what we’re going to do in this last one,” Jackman said. “It just feels like this is the perfect way to go out.”
