UPDATE: According to a TMZ  report, former baseball star Jose Canseco admitted that his claim that his  surgically re-attached finger fell off while playing poker was a hoax. Read the original story below.

In a series of tweets Monday,  Canseco said he was thinking of selling on eBay the detached finger and the gun that shot it off.

On Oct. 28, Canseco was cleaning his gun in the kitchen of his Las Vegas home when the weapon fired and accidentally shot off a finger on his left hand, police said. He reportedly had surgery to reattach the finger.

Then, in a bizarre series of tweets last week,  Canseco said the finger  "fell off" during a poker tournament.

"I knew something crazy was going to happen with this ... finger cause it felt like it was falling off," Canseco tweeted Friday.
