Harry Potter fans and gamers alike will soon be able to explore the world of Hogwarts through the new immersive augmented reality game "Harry Potter: Wizards Unite."

Augmented reality is an interactive experience that adds computer-generated objects and environments to a real-world environment.

According to Variety, the free mobile game is slated for "sometime in 2019" and is co-developed by Niantic, the company behind the hit AR game,"Pokémon Go" and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment's Portkey Games label.

"Traces of magic are appearing across the Muggle world without warning and in a rather chaotic manner," according to a new teaser trailer. Witches and wizards "willing to roll up their sleeves and volunteer to save the wizarding world from the Calamity" are crucial to its survival. "Brush up on your spells, get your wand ready, and enlist immediately."
