After an eight-year hiatus from stand-up comedy, Chris Rock is making his triumphant return. And he’s making bank while he’s at it.

According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, the 51-year-old comedian just signed a deal with Netflix for two specials, to the tune of $40 million.

At $20 million per special, this makes him the highest paid comedian to do a special, beating out Louis C.K., Jerry Seinfeld and Amy Schumer.

"Chris Rock is a beloved actor and director, and his remarkable stand-up makes him comic royalty," Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos said in a statement. "There is no one like him, and Netflix offers the global platform and creative freedom that will serve as a perfect home for someone with his incredible talent."

Rock’s first special won’t tape until 2017, and it has will follow a world tour that is still being planned.

It has not been decided when when the show will air or when the second show will begin taping.
