Charlotte Rae, better known as Mrs. Garrett on NBC's hit comedy "The Facts of Life," died at her Los Angeles home Sunday.

The 92-year-old actress was diagnosed with bone cancer last year after dealing with a battle with pancreatic cancer, Rae's publicist Harlan Boll told the Associated Press.

Some of her former castmates took to social media to pay tribute, including Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Kim Fields, who played Dorothy “Tootie”Ramsey on the sitcom.

“You all already know my heart is heavy yet…” she wrote.

Actress Mindy Cohn (Natalie Green on “Facts”) called Rae “an incredible force of a woman” in an Instagram post.

Rae’s iconic homemaker character of Mrs. Garrett, beloved for her patience and wisdom, actually originated in 1978 during the first season of NBC’s “Diff’rent Strokes.”

“Strokes” co-star Todd Bridges, who portrayed Willis Jackson in the show, also shared his condolences.

Rae worked on "Facts" for seven seasons, leaving the show in 1986. "I needed some time for the rest of my life," she said, according to the AP.
