The Cobb County Chamber of Commerce chamber kicks off this year’s Give Our School a Hand salute to public education with the annual unveiling of the Teachers of the Year hand prints for Cobb County and Marietta City schools. Cobb’s recipient is special education instructor Christopher James from Osborne High School; Marietta’s recipient is speech/language pathologist Lynn McBride from Lockheed Elementary School.

The unveiling takes place at 10.30 a.m.at the Teacher Walk of Honor in Glover Park on the Marietta Square.

Also Oct. 6, chamber members will take on government officials in the 35th annual softball game.

The game begins at 5 p.m. at Tolleson Park in Smyrna.

Chamber Chairman Rob Garcia will coach for the chamber, and Judge Ken Nix will coach the government team.
