John F. Baker Jr. delved into his own family history and came up with "The Washingtons of Wessyngton Plantation: Stories of My Family's Journey to Freedom." The book recounts the lives of the author's great-great-grandparents, who were enslaved Africans living on the plantation. Baker will discuss and sign the book at 1 p.m. Feb. 27.
