Bands will strut their stuff at Georgia Dome Saturday

Some of the country's best marching bands will take to the field at the Georgia Dome Saturday for the 2010 Honda Battle of the Bands. Now in its eighth year, the showdown highlights the top musicians from the country's historically black college and university marching bands. Festivities kick off at 3 p.m. with Clark Atlanta University's "Mighty Marching Panthers."

Here's a look at the annual competition by the numbers.

8 bands are set to compete, including Clark Atlanta University, Virginia State University, North Carolina Central University, Prairie View A&M University, Southern University, Albany State University, Tuskegee University and Florida A&M University.

1 guest performance by hip-hop star and Atlanta-native Ludacris.

1,800 student musicians will perform during the 3-hour show.

60,000 fans are expected to attend.

20,000 dollars will be given to each participating band's music program, in addition to the $1,000 schools won in the pre-qualifying fall campus tour.
