Brad Pitt is set to film his movie adaptation of New Orleans native Michael Lewis' Wall Street expose, "The Big Short," in New Orleans, NOLA.com reports.

The cast reportedly will include Pitt, Ryan Gosling, Christian Bale and Steve Carell.

Production may start as soon as March, according to the report.

Paramount Pictures has not yet confirmed the report, but the Louisiana film office confirmed it had received an application from the studio for the project, NOLA.com said.

The movie tells the stories of financiers who saw the 2007/8 financial crash coming and took steps to profit from it.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie own a home in New Orleans.
