'Black Mirror' season 5 trailer: Miley Cyrus, Anthony Mackie star in Netflix series
The trailer for season five of the Netflix sci-fi anthology series "Black Mirror" is here, and it indicates a return to its British roots.
Entertainment Weekly reported that the first look at the anthology drama announced a June 5 premiere. The fifth season will have three episodes, similar to its shorter seasons when it was a Channel 4 network show in the UK. More recent seasons since Netflix's acquisition have had six standalone episodes, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Big names appear in the trailer, indicating Anthony Mackie, Topher Grace and Miley Cyrus will have roles in the latest season. In one scene, Miley Cyrus appears to be a pop star, outfitted in a lavender bob wig and a tight white crop top and skirt.
Season five is the first new material from “Black Mirror” since the stand-alone interactive episode “Bandersnatch,” which contained five-and-a-half hours of new footage.
The latest season promises to bring "three new stories about the future we should have seen coming."
