A prisoner at the Cobb County jail was recaptured after he walked away from his work detail Thursday about 11 a.m., the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office confirmed.

Christopher Shane Pruitt, 47, was arrested in the 1600 block of Wildwood Road while deputies and officers were responding to a suspicious person call, Cobb sheriff’s spokesman Glenn Daniel said.

A sergeant with the sheriff’s office identified Pruitt and authorities arrested him. He will be taken to the Cobb County jail.

Pruitt, who was incarcerated for violating probation related to a theft by taking charge, walked away from a cleanup site at Fuller Park on Robinson Road,  Daniel said.

No other details were released.
