Two teens were arrested after witnesses reported multiple mailbox thefts in a Cherokee County subdivision.
Officers were dispatched to the Great Sky subdivision about 10:40 a.m. Wednesday regarding a report of two people stealing from mailboxes on Evening Rain Crest and Thundering Hills, Canton police said.
Officers patrolled the area and interviewed witnesses before they found two teens who matched witness descriptions.
One witness found several pieces of mail behind Teziyah Frederick’s residence and turned them over to officers, police said.
Frederick and an unidentified girl were charged with two counts of theft by taking, police said. The girl’s name was not released because she is 16 years old. Frederick is 17.
He was released from the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center on Thursday on a $1,600 bond, according to the sheriff’s office.
The status of the girl was not known.
