HGTV renovation retains original 1930's charm of Druid Hills home.

The coffee table in the living room is another piece that homeowner Franklin Johnson made with pieces of wood in different stains. The walls are painted Benjamin Moore's Brewster Gray.

A framed image of a dandelion is one of the pieces that designer Jennifer McKune of Fifth Avenue Solutions brought into the living room. She also selected furniture and accessories for the kitchen, dining room, laundry room and workshop as part of the renovation chronicled on HGTV's "Property Brothers."

A handcrafted wood hutch from Nadeau in Buckhead houses electrical components behind a Pottery Barn couch in the homeowners' remodeled Atlanta living room.

A wall was removed in between the dining room and the old galley-style kitchen, which was remodeled and now includes a breakfast bar. The dining room, kitchen and living area were renovated over six weeks by John Rogers Renovations and filmed for HGTV's "Property Brothers."

The dining room was expanded in the remodel, and a mirror further enhances the space, which has walls painted Benjamin Moore's Revere Pewter. The dining table and whiskey barrel kegerator are homeowner Franklin Johnson's creations.

Homeowner Franklin Johnson built the 6-by-6-foot wood dining table in the Atlanta home, which can seat up to 10 people. Upholstered chairs from World Market surround the table, and the rug is from Floor & Decor.

The Atlanta kitchen now has space for a bar and items such as a kegerator made out of a whiskey barrel by homeowner Franklin Johnson. The kitchen walls are painted Benjamin Moore's Stonington Gray.

The Druid Hills kitchen renovation was filmed for HGTV's "Property Brothers," which worked with Frigidaire to donate new stainless steel appliances for the homeowners. Shaker-style cabinets and subway tile backsplash were selected to create a classic American look in the kitchen, which also has a farmhouse sink, vent hood and black countertops.

The hallway off the remodeled kitchen and living room is painted Benjamin Moore's Revere Pewter. Underneath the stairs, a doorway leads to the basement.

When the homeowners travel to other countries, they bring home unusual souvenirs - pieces of wood. The stairway includes some of the wood they have collected on those trips and leads up to a vivid painting by Atlanta artist Sergey Cherep.

Walls painted Benjamin Moore's Sandy Hook Gray provide a neutral backdrop to the blue and green tones in artwork that was a gift from homeowner Franklin Johnson to his wife, Heather. The painting hangs above a desk in the sun parlor, which also serves as an office.

Another family piece in the Druid Hills home is a cedar dresser that belonged to Heather Johnson's grandmother. Now, the Atlanta homeowners use it as a wardrobe to hold coats.

The homeowners repainted and distressed a china cabinet that once belonged to Heather Johnson's grandmother, then was passed down to her mother and then to her. A patterned tablecloth is re-purposed as the backing for the cabinet, to give it depth. Items on display include gifts such as a clock.

The Victrola was a wedding present from Franklin Johnson to his wife, Heather. She often commented that she liked Franklin's family's phonograph, so he surprised her with one.

Franklin and Heather Johnson, who have a chocolate lab named Beau, purchased their home in Atlanta's Druid Hills neighborhood in 2013. The 2,300-square-foot American Foursquare-style home was built in 1930. Franklin is an investment analyst at Aon Hewitt; Heather is operations and planning program manager at Emory University School of Medicine.

The garage was closed in to built a workshop for homeowner Franklin Johnson, who handcrafts dining, coffee and side tables for his home and for sale at franklinsfurniture.com. The workshop walls are painted Benjamin Moore's Pale Oak.
