Airport spa operator XpresSpa has opened its third location at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, on Concourse D.

The company also plans to eventually open XpresSpa locations on Concourses E and F.

XpresSpa already has locations on Concourses A and C, with contracts due to expire in November.

Ed Jankowski, chief executive of the company, said in a written statement that Atlanta has been “one of XpresSpa’s most successful markets” since it opened its first locations at Hartsfield-Jackson in 2009.

A new contracting process for the Concourse A and C spa locations started earlier this year, with three spa operators including XpresSpa competing for the space.

The new spa locations on Concourses D, E and F had been planned since the opening of the airport's international terminal in 2012, but were delayed due to a legal dispute with a minority partner in the years since.

While legal challenges continue over the Atlanta airport XpresSpa locations, Atlanta’s city attorney last November said: “We believe development is in the airport’s best interest, obviously, not to have vacant stores at the world’s busiest airport.”
