Shaw Industries acquires Stuart Flooring

Carpet maker Shaw Industries acquired Stuart Flooring Corp. in a deal design to boost Shaw's presence in the wood flooring segment. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Shaw, headquartered in Dalton, said the acquisition allows it to increase sales and product capacity. Stuart Flooring, based in Stuart, Va., began in 1922 and makes unfinished solid wood flooring and parquet flooring for residential uses. The company also manufactures products for other companies to finish to their own specifications.
