Romanian airline TAROM joins Delta's SkyTeam alliance

Romanian airline TAROM joined Delta Air Lines' SkyTeam alliance in a ceremony in Bucharest on Friday.

The addition will strengthen the global airline alliance's presence in Central and Eastern Europe, according to SkyTeam. TAROM is the 13th member of SkyTeam. Members of Delta's and other SkyTeam airlines' frequent flier programs can now earn and redeem miles when flying on TAROM.

Delta said its passengers will also gain access to 11 additional destinations, including more cities in Romania and in Moldova.
