Ritz & Wolf camera store reopens in Kennesaw with new look, name
Town Center at Cobb is getting one of the nation's first revamped Ritz & Wolf Camera & Image stores.
The camera chain filed for bankruptcy reorganization earlier this year, closing dozens of stores nationwide.
In the last two weeks, the company reopened five stores nationally, including in the Kennesaw mall.
The camera chain is pursuing a new co-branding strategy to include both the Wolf and Ritz names. The two companies were owned by cousins, but Ritz bought Wolf after that company, founded by Atlantan Chuck Wolf, filed for bankruptcy in 2001. After that, many stores operated as just Ritz or Wolf, but the company recently decided to combine the brand names.
The reopened stores are expanding into electronics that upload or display photos, like LCD TVs, Blu-ray DVD players, MP3 players and GPS systems, as well as Verizon phones. There is also a "photo bar" where customers can print photos.
The Kennesaw store reopened Friday.
