The W Atlanta Perimeter will no longer carry the name of the glitzy boutique brand. Starwood Hotels and Resorts, owner of the W chain, said the property will get a new name on June 1: the Atlanta Perimeter Hotel & Suites. The new independent hotel will remain in the Starwood portfolio, will continue to be included in the Starwood Preferred Guest Program and retain its decor. Rumors that the 122-room/152-suite hotel, which was the second property in the W chain, would lose its flag has been swirling for years, but picked up steam after Atlanta added three W locations over the last five years.
