Hartsfield-Jackson saw boost in Thanksgiving travel

Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport said it had a 5.6 percent increase in Thanksgiving passengers this year, a bigger boost than forecast.

The Atlanta airport originally predicted a 3.3 percent increase in travelers over the holiday period, but said it ended up with even more traffic than expected. From Nov. 25 to Dec. 2, the airport handled a total of 1.8 million passengers used the world’s busiest airport.

Hartsfield-Jackson said its busiest day was the Monday after Thanksgiving, when it handled with more than 282,000 passengers.
