March 6, 2005, was a dark and sad day for Atlantans as Rich's officially disappeared from our landscape, taking with it 138 years of local history, lore and, quite frankly, love. And for many Atlantans who recall Rich's in its glory days, the loss of Atlanta's hometown department store still hurts.
