Summer vacations may be on the minds of many Atlantans, but that doesn't mean the hiring process is on hold. If you're trying to land a new job this summer, check out the following companies that are making big hires in the metro area this July.

EY (Ernst & Young)

EY is hiring in July, according to Glassdoor. Job openings are plentiful in Atlanta and Alpharetta at EY, which is one of the world's largest professional services companies and one of the "Big Four" accounting firms. Local jobs include positions for assurance services manager, developer, solution architect and more.

DeKalb County Schools

DeKalb County is hiring special education teachers and is hosting a job fair to help find candidates. The hiring event will be held on July 10 from 1-5 p.m. at the Robert R. Freeman Administrative Complex at DeKalb Early College Academy, 1701 Mountain Industrial Blvd., Stone Mountain. Enter through DeKalb Early College Academy (DECA). Bring copies of your resume, certificate, GACE scores or content assessment scores.

J.C. Penney

Back-to-school sales have already started, and area J.C. Penney stores are gearing up for the season. Over 20 Georgia stores, including Northlake Mall and Stonecrest Mall locations, will be hiring a total of about 450 seasonal employees.

Open positions include those for cashiers, beauty consultants and more, and if you're hired, you'll be able to get the associate discount of up to 25 percent. If you're interested, apply at jobs.jcp.com.

Aldi

Aldi is hiring for its Northeast Atlanta grocery store locations in Peachtree Corners, Johns Creek and Duluth. Store associates and shift managers are needed, with pay for store associates starting at $12 and pay for shift managers starting at $16.50 per manager hour worked. Both positions will receive a pay increase after six months.

A hiring event will be held on July 9 from 8 a.m.-noon and 2-5 p.m. at the Duluth store on 2618 Pleasant Hill Road. To get started, download Aldi's employment application.
