As the calendar moves into March, many companies are staffing for their busiest time of year. From home improvement stores to amusement parks, the promise of warmer weather means increased hiring.

If you’re looking for a job, these Atlanta companies are making big hires this March:

The Home Depot

It's almost spring, so The Home Depot is planning to add about 80,000 workers nationwide advance of its busiest season. About 2,250 of these jobs will be in Georgia, including about 1,400 in metro Atlanta.

Many of the new positions are in the garden center, but you’ll also find merchandising, customer service and warehouse positions among those being added. Full-time and part-time jobs are available, and many seasonal employees stay with the company afterward.

Six Flags Over Georgia

The busiest times of year are also approaching for Six Flags Over Georgia, so the park is hiring for many positions. In addition to working in a fun atmosphere, you'll also score perks such as free tickets to Six Flags parks, employee-only events and scholarships.

You can submit your application online anytime or attend a job fair for the Foods and Rides departments from 2 p.m.-6 p.m. on Feb. 23 at the park’s employment center.

Walk-in Wednesdays also let you apply online first and then visit the employment center on any Wednesday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Dress in business casual clothing and be ready for an interview.

Piedmont Healthcare System

Piedmont Healthcare System is hosting a hiring event for RNs with experience in critical care, emergency or med/surg from 5:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. on Feb. 25 at Uncle Julio’s (Perimeter), 6115 Peachtree Dunwoody Road, Sandy Springs. The hospital system is looking for float pool RNs to divide their time between its different hospitals and is promising premium pay, no holiday work requirements and minimal weekend requirements.

In addition, Piedmont Healthcare System hosts "Walk-In Wednesdays" for nurses. YMCA Atlanta

The YMCA has many locations in metro Atlanta, and collectively, they have nearly 375 open positions listed online. You’ll find job openings including those for a membership supervisor, wellness coach, sports program coordinator, sports camp counselor, payroll administrator and many more.
