If you're looking for a new job this February in Atlanta, you're in luck. Some are gearing up for a busier season during warm weather months, when they'll need to be more fully staffed.
Check out the following metro Atlanta companies making big hires this month:
The calendar may say it's still winter, but Lowe's is already preparing for spring. Home improvement projects and lawn care tasks surge as the weather gets warmer, and the home improvement retailer is getting ready to hold its biggest hiring event of the year to fill thousands of full-time, part-time and seasonal positions.
The company will host a national hiring day at all of its Georgia stores from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. on Feb. 13. If you land a part-time or full-time job with Lowe's, you'll be offered a competitive benefits program.
Stone Mountain is ramping up hiring this month with a wide variety of open positions. They include a Dinotorium ranger, stage manager, railroad conductor, overnight custodian, gardener/interpreter, automobile mechanic and more.
Check out the park's list of openings, which details each job's requirements as well as the salary and whether it's part-time or full-time.
DeKalb County Schools
Like most large school districts, DeKalb County frequently has many job openings throughout the year. They include plenty of teaching positions, but you'll currently find open positions for everything from accountants to kitchen equipment mechanics.
If you're interested in a teaching job with DeKalb County Schools, you can register for and attend the district's next Walk In Wednesday event, which will be held from 9 a.m. - 1:45 on Feb. 13 at Human Capital Management, 1701 Mountain Industrial Blvd., Stone Mountain. You'll need to be a certified teacher or meet provisional requirements in order to participate. Click here on the Monday before the event to sign up.
Local YMCA locations have plenty of job openings this February, with 122 currently listed in Atlanta, 50 in Decatur, 41 in Alpharetta and more across the metro Atlanta area. The majority of positions are full-time and include basketball referees, swim instructors, day camp counselors, nursery attendants and a social media and marketing specialist.
