Delta Air Lines is promoting treasurer Paul Jacobson to the position of chief financial officer. He replaces Hank Halter, 46, "following [Halter's] decision to retire from Delta" after 13 years with the airline, Delta said.

"With several key milestones accomplished and having paved the way for our future success, Hank leaves us in good hands," Delta president Ed Bastian said in a statement.

Jacobson, 40, has been with Delta for 15 years.. He has a bachelor's degree in aviation management from Auburn University and a master of business administration from Vanderbilt University.
