Atlanta-based restaurant chain Chick-fil-A is being sued by a former manager who alleges she was fired after 29 years of employment with the company because of her age and being a Filipino.  Loida Underwood is suing the company in the U.S. District Court's  Northern District of Georgia in Atlanta. Also named in the suit is Phil Nichols, the franchisee who operated the Lenox Mall Chick-fil-A location where she worked. A Chick-fil-A spokesman said the company does not comment on pending legal matters. In a separate federal complaint, Indianapolis-based Steak ‘n Shake is being sued by a former employee who alleges he was fired after complaining to his managers he was a target of racial harassment by black co-workers at the eatery's Toco Hills location. Mark Alexander, the plaintiff, is white and alleges his complaints to Dennis Kanady, Steak ‘n Shake's district manager, were ignored.  He also alleges he worked overtime but did not receive pay due him. Kanady also is named as a defendant in the suit. Steak ‘n Shake did not return a telephone call seeking comment.
