Heineken USA, a division of Dutch brewer Heineken International, has appointed Alex Jackson as senior vice president for operations. Jackson's local connections run deep: he is a native of the Atlanta area, earned a bachelors of science degree in microbiology from the University of Georgia, and worked for Coca-Cola Co.

At Coca-Cola, Jackson worked as corporate vice president of quality and also managed operations for Coke's Canadian business. He has also worked for Frito-Lay, Sara Lee and Kraft.

"We believe our distributor, retailer and logistics partners will quickly see Alex's positive impact on the management of our supply chain, which is tied to brewing operations in three countries on two continents and multiple shipping channels," Dolf van den Brink, president and CEO of Heineken USA, said in a statement.

"This is one of those opportunities – working for one of the biggest names in beer – that don’t come around often," Jackson said.
