2007 marks the 100th anniversary of aviation in Georgia.

The 8,000-member National Business Aviation Association is holding its 60th annual meeting in Atlanta this week. The meeting included a celebration of 100 years of aviation in Georgia. Here are some highlights: 1907: Ben Epps in Athens with the first plane he built and the first flown in Georgia.

1927: Charles A. Lindbergh is greeted at Candler Field by local dignitaries on his first visit to Atlanta since flying solo across the Atlantic as the city celebrated "Lindbergh Day."

1927: Charles Lindbergh stands under the wing of his plane, The Spirit of St. Louis, on the eve of his pioneering trans-Atlantic flight to Paris. He brought the plane to Atlanta on a victory tour.

1941: Construction is ongoing at the Atlanta Municipal Airport, previously known as Candler Field.

1940s: Atlanta's version of 'Rosie the Riveter' works on a B-29 fuselage during World War II at the Bell Bomber Plant (now Lockheed) in Marietta.

1951: Repairing the engine of a plane in one of the hangars at the new Fulton County (Charlie Brown) Airport are Cecil Gilham, Frank Lee and Millard Davis.

Eastern Airlines ceases operations in 1991. It takes several years for Hartsfield to regain its volume and prominence.

2005: An airplane lands at DeKalb Peachtree Airport in Chamblee.

2006: Captain Tom Hendricks waves to employees on the tarmac during one of the last flights of the "Spirit of Delta" into Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. Employees of Delta in 1982 led by three flight attendants purchased the Boeing 767 and gave it to the airline in 1982 when it was suffering financially.
