Hot 107.9 is pulling out all the stops for its 20th anniversary Birthday Bash concert at Philips Arena June 20, announcing today the addition of one of the most influential hip-hop artists of the past two decades in Kanye West.

West performed at Birthday Bash 10 and 15 so he has been very loyal to Hot over the years. He hasn't performed in Atlanta since December, 2013.

The concert already includes Future, Ludacris, Wale, Mike Will Presents, Migo's, K Camp, B.O.B, Big Boi, OG Mac and DJ Drama.

Tickets are still available at Ticketmaster at most price levels for the main concert. Kanye's presence should goose sales. And Stubhub prices may rise even more. Already, tickets are ranging from $55 to $1,318 on Stubhub with most in the $100 to $200 range.

Hot 107.9 is also holding a separate throwback concert at the Tabernacle June 19 featuring hosts Rickey Smiley, DJ Nabs and Da Brat and performances by Trick Daddy, Bun B, Mase, Ying Yang Twins, Yung Joc, Lil Scrappy, Pastor Troy, Kilo Ali, 95 South, Shop Boyz, Gorilla Zoe, Trillville and Soulja Boy.

V-103 was top dog for the third month in a row last month in the Nielsen Audio radio ratings. Meanwhile, the three classic hip-hop stations also continue to grow audience in their fifth months of existence. (Yes, all three stations launched virtually at the same time late last year.)

V-103's 8.5 share was its best number since January, 2013, the month after Frank Ski left.

Combined, the three classic hip-hop stations drew a 2.8 share, up from 2.4 in April. They continue to rank in order: OG 97.9 (1.4), Boom 102.9 (0.9) and Old School 99.3 (0.5). Among 25 to 54 year olds, the combined share is an impressive 3.7.

Unfortunately, that 3.7 had to come from somewhere. The three stations are not blatantly hurting V-103 (which is mainstream hip hop and R&B), R&B station Kiss 104.1 (a 5.3 share and 5th place overall) or Streetz 94.5, which focuses on current hip hip. Streetz, despite a very weak signal, tied its best month ever with a 1.9 share along with a 4.2 share among 18 to 34 year olds.

R&B station Majic 107.5/97.5 appears to have taken the biggest hit, falling to a 3.9 share, its worst monthly result in several years.

In the pop world, Christian music station Fish 104.7 is the hottest ticket in town, especially its Kevin & Taylor morning show (which gets plenty of billboard love on the highways.) Outside of the month it goes Christmas, the Fish's 6.2 share and 5th place is among its best months in its history.

The new-ish Rock 100.5 Morning Show had its worst month since Larry Wachs was let go in December. Among 25-54 year olds, the morning show had a 2.7 share, good for 15th place and comparable to a year ago. The bigger problem is the younger demo of 18 to 34. A year ago, the Regular Guys drew a 5.3, tied for seventh. Last month, the revamped show brought in a 2.9 share, ranked 12th and down from a 4.3 in March.

92.9/The Game has slipped the past three months from a station peak of a 3 share in January to a 2.1 share last month despite Hawks hype. I can't report 680/The Fan's ratings because it doesn't subscribe to Nielsen but the gap between the two stations remains wide with the Game well ahead overall. The rival mid-day and afternoon shows are close.
