Dwight Eubanks, the hairdresser and unofficial "sixth" housewife on "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," said he was "shocked" when he found out about Ashley "A.J." Jewell's death early Saturday morning.

The reunion show taping was set here in Atlanta later this week but has been postponed, Eubanks said. But he expects Bravo will tape it later. The network has time. It won’t be airing the reunion shows until November.

“I don’t see them editing him out,” Eubanks said. “It’s television. It’s reality. We just have to prepare and get geared up for next year.”

He has no clue if "Housewife" and R&B singer-songwriter Kandi Burruss, who was engaged to A.J. until late August, chooses to stay with the show.

“She’s had such a dramatic year,” he said. “She had her uncle die, too. She has her own career to focus on. Now her life has changed with her daughter and taking temporary custody of [AJ's] twins. My father was murdered some years ago. I know the pain and stress she’s going through.”

He has chosen to leave Kandi alone in her grieving but has been in contact with Kandi’s aunt and mom, who did not approve of A.J. “That’s how she felt,” he said. “She was adamant about it. Kandi was going to try to win her mother over with A.J. If her mother could not accept A.J., she couldn’t marry him. That’s the way she was reared.”

From what Dwight could see, Kandi “has a great support system. She has an incredible extended family.”

Dwight did not know any of A.J.’s friends. “The strip club,” he noted, “is not my thing.”
