A Fox 5 executive producer played good Samaritan this morning , helping a family escape from a burning home.
Amy Oates told her own station that she was driving by this morning on her way to work and saw smoke coming out of hte back of the home. She called 911 but became worried because nobody was departing the house.
She and another driver who had also stopped by knocked on doors and windows to get the family's attention. Eventually, the father answered and they were able to usher the family of three to safety.

Former North Georgia resident and "Lost" vet Josh Holloway starred in a new CBS drama last night "Intelligence." Critics pilloried the show but it held 80 percent of the viewers from lead-in "NCIS," which is excellent. It drew 16.6 million viewers compared to 20.65 million for top-rated "NCIS" (which features Pauley Perrette, a former metro Atlantan.)
The show did skew a little on the old side but that's pretty typical of CBS dramas.

Former Atlantan and "SNL' cast member Kenan Thompson joined Cecily Strong at the Consumer Electronics Show to mock Snapchat and Bitcoin, among other subjects. You can read more here.
"The founders of Snapchat last year turned down a $3 billion offer from Facebook and a $4 billion offer from Google," Strong said. "It's a surprising show of integrity from the guys that invented the app that lets you look at pictures of boobs for five seconds."
Thompson played Al Sharpton: "Thank you, Marissa Mayer — CEO of Yoohoo — for having me. Who would have thought that a small chocolate milk company like Yoohoo would turn into one of the biggest tech giants? It's amazing."

In a Q&A with the Hollywood Reporter, Fox News' Roger Ailes makes fun of Jeff Zucker's comments about CNN being more like History and Discovery.
I'm actually thrilled. MSNBC has [already] announced they're out of the news business. They have several different hosts, but it's always the same show: Republicans are no good. The NBC News people won't get caught dead on MSNBC. They could have a traffic accident in front of the window, and they wouldn't cover it. For CNN to also throw in the towel and announce they're out of the news business is quite interesting. That means Fox has won the cable news wars. [Zucker] had a big hit with a whale one night [the documentary Blackfish]. I guess he's going to do whales a lot. If I were Discovery, I'd be worried.
