DeKalb County’s government is closed Wednesday because of icy conditions expected to arrive in the afternoon.

All non-essential and non-emergency county personnel who work at government administrative offices are being told to stay home.

Public safety and critical public works employees are still on the job as needed.

The county issued a statement urging residents to use extreme caution and check local news for updates about severe weather.

DeKalb has provided safety tips and non-emergency phone numbers at www.dekalbcountyga.gov.
