The sun has been up for a couple of hours, but temperatures remained at or just below freezing across most of metro Atlanta at 9 a.m., ranging from 29 degrees in Dunwoody, 30 in Alpharetta and 31 in Marietta, Cartersville and Dallas to 32 in Chamblee and Gainesville and 33 at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

The winter storm that dumped more than a half-foot of snow across parts of north Georgia Wednesday and overnight has moved out of the state. While metro Atlanta interstates are wet but mostly ice free, roads in far northern suburbs were still covered with ice and snow early Thursday morning. Full story.
