Temperatures at daybreak Wednesday were at or below freezing metro-wide, with readings ranging from 27 in Alpharetta and Carterville, 28 in Dunwoody and Dallas and 29 in Marietta and Gainesville to 30 in Chamblee and 32 in Peachtree City and at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Metro Atlantans were bracing Wednesday morning for an afternoon winter storm that forecasters said could deliver dump several inches of snow across parts of the area. A winter storm warning goes into effect at 10 a.m. for 50 Georgia counties. Full story.
