As Tuesday morning's  snowfall comes to an end and forecasters turn their attention to Wednesday's predictions of a more significant snow event, the National Weather Service reported snow and sleet accumulations of .6 inch in Canton, 1 inch in Dalton, 2 inches in Dahlonega and Ellijay and 3.5 inches in Young Harris.

A wintry mix of sleet, rain and snow began falling across the northern suburbs around 4 a.m. Tuesday, while snow was reported across the mountain counties. Drivers are urged to check current traffic conditions  before leaving home. Read the full story and forecast.
