Delta Air Lines has canceled about 450 flights, nearly all of them in Atlanta, in advance of expected snow Wednesday.

That's about a quarter of Delta's roughly 1,800 daily flights to and from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

Southwest Airlines, the second-largest carrier in Atlanta, has also canceled roughly a quarter of its flights from Hartsfield-Jackson. Dallas-based Southwest has canceled about 3o of its 130 Atlanta departures.

Both carriers have offered to waive certain change fees for passengers who have flights booked to, from or through Atlanta and some other Southeast cities Wednesday and Thursday and want to change their travel plans.

Hartsfield-Jackson said Wednesday morning it has activated 6 of its 11 de-icing pads and had de-iced 22 aircraft by late morning. The airport said it also has 10 plows and 8 snow brooms for the airfield, along with 4 liquid de-icing trucks for runways.
