Atlanta Public Schools is operating on a normal schedule Tuesday.

"Atlanta Public School is not planning to release students from class early or cancel after school activities at this time," district spokeswoman Kimberly Willis Green told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "We are continuing to monitor the weather, and will update APS families and employees of any changes via APS robo calls, text/email, district website and social media channels. We encourage our APS charter school families to contact their schools directly for inclement weather updates."

A wintry mix of sleet, rain and snow began falling across the northern suburbs around 4 a.m. Tuesday, while snow was reported across the mountain counties. Drivers are urged to check current traffic conditions  before leaving home. Read the full story and forecast .
