Snow flurries: Metro districts cancel after-school activities

A number of schools Wednesday released students early or canceled after-school activities because of the weather . At least one district announced school will be closed Thursday.

  • Atlanta Public Schools canceled all outdoor athletic practices and games scheduled through Thursday, district spokeswoman Mariama Tyler Jenkins said in an emailed statement.
  • All outdoor after-school activities in the Cobb County School District were canceled through Thursday, according to the system's official Twitter account .
  • Clayton County Public Schools canceled all outdoor after-school activities through Friday, district spokesman Charles White said in an email.
  • Pickens County Schools will be closed Thursday for students, according to the district's Facebook page . Staff members are required to report to work at 8 a.m.
