Atlanta police have made an arrest in the fatal shooting of a Georgia Army National Guardsman in August.
Harold Dodson, 21, is charged with murder in the killing of Atting Eminue, 24, of Lawrenceville . Dodson was arrested Oct. 23 and taken to Fulton County Jail.
Eminue was shot near the Peachtree-Pine homeless shelter early Aug. 30. Police said the shooting followed an argument. His family said Eminue had been trying to give away shoes to a homeless person prior to the altercation.
Eminue was an Amy sergeant who served three tours in Afghanistan, according to his family. He was a father to a 4-year-old boy, reported Channel 2 Action News, which said Eminue and his family came to the United States from Nigeria 15 years ago for a better life.
