In a first show of the bipartisanship that they have pledged to pursue this year, the Fulton County Board of Commissioners Wednesday elected Liz Hausmann vice chair.

Hausmann, a Johns Creek Republican, was the unanimous choice of the commission, where Democrats maintain four of seven seats. She begins her second term on the commission and first as vice chair. In November voters re-elected Democrat John Eaves of Atlanta to be chairman.

“I look forward to working with the entire Board of Commissioners in making Fulton County the best it can be,” Hausmann said.

Hausmann represents District 1, which includes Johns Creek and portions of Alpharetta, Roswell, and Sandy Springs.

Democratic Commissioner Emma Darnell previously served as vice chair.
