Fulton County police Monday released the name of a driver facing multiple charges in connection with a fatal wreck Saturday night on I-20 .

According to Fulton police Detective Melissa Parker, Erric Donnell Banks hit a car that was on the shoulder of I-20 near Fulton Industrial Boulevard with a flat tire.

A passenger in the car on the shoulder died in the crash, Parker said. The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office was still working Monday to positively identify the 19-year-old woman, who Parker said was visiting from New York.

Parker said Banks was charged with felony homicide by vehicle, reckless driving, passing on the shoulder and driving in the emergency lane.

Banks and the driver of the second vehicle were taken to local hospitals for treatment of injuries that Parker said were not life-threatening.
