Sandy Springs police Sgt. Ron Momon has a warning for motorists: Use alternate routes to avoid Friday morning's deadly plane crash on I-285 eastbound at Peachtree Industrial Boulevard.

  • The entrance ramps from northbound and southbound Ga. 400 onto eastbound I-285 are closed, he said.
  • The Peachtree Dunwoody Road entrance ramp to I-285 eastbound is closed, too.

"These routes are expected to be closed for at least six to eight hours," Momon said in an emailed statement.

The Ga. 400 southbound exit ramp onto I-285 westbound is open.
