In Class 6A-7A boys, Lambert opens at No. 1. The Longhorns have dropped a pair of contests to out-of-state opponents, but have scored victories over defending champion and second-ranked Walton (7-5), Blessed Trinity (10-7), Roswell (11-7) and West Forsyth (10-4). Walton fell 11-8 to Pnte Vedra Florida, but has won five-straight games, including a 12-6 win over Cambridge on March 6. Lassiter, Mill Creek and Roswell round out the top 10. In Class A-5A boys, Starr’s Mill makes its debut at No. 1 ahead of No. 2 Westminster. Buford, Woodward Academy and Blessed Trinity round out the top 5.
On the girls side, Milton opens at No. 1 in Class 6A-7A, while West Forsyth, Lassiter, Walton and Johns Creek complete the top 5. The Starr’s Mill girls get the nod for No. 1 in Class A-5A. The Lady Panthers are 5-1 due to a14-10 to Lassiter, but have outscored their other five opponents by a combined 100-2. No. 2 Blessed Trinity was defeated 21-15 by Walton, but has since racked up four-straight victories to earn its place at No. 2.
