Upson-Lee handled business on Tuesday, defeating Wilkinson County 76-60 to improve to 10-0 and stamp the program’s 73rd straight victory. Zyrice Scott went off for 26 points in the victory, and Trayvon Walker—who signed his letter of intent to play football at Georgia the following morning—had a monster performance. Walker finished with 17 points to go with 16 rebounds and six blocks. Jarrett Adderton turned in a 14-point night. The Knights will face Lakeside-DeKalb in the Cleveland Stroud Classic next, and the winner will square off with Rockdale County.

Elsewhere in the classification, Sandy Creek is still resting after its 106-103 triple overtime victory against Dacula in last weekend’s Hawks Naismith Classic. The Patriots will have gotten a full week of rest before they face a 1-7 McIntosh team tomorrow night. … Baldwin narrowly defeated Greenbrier 57-53 on Monday and Americus-Sumter scored a 78-68 win over Cairo this week in Region 1-AAAA action.

On the girls side, Carver-Columbus improved to 10-0 with a 92-55 win over Orangeburg-Wilkinson (SC) in the Beach Ball Classic. Olivia Cochran led the Tigers with 35 points and 16 rebounds. Carver-Columbus also defeated rival Columbus 100-32 this past Tuesday.

Flowery Branch is in Phoenix, Arizona competing in the Nike Tournament of Champions. The Falcons fell 45-42 to Upperman (TN) on Wednesday, but will have three more days of tournament action to gain experience.

Heritage-Catoosa (12-1) handed Northwest Whitfield its only loss of the season in a 48-47 road win on Dec. 7. These two Region 6-AAAA rivals are set to square off again on Jan. 18 at Heritage-Catoosa.

Madison County (12-0) defeated Class AAA’s Hart County 74-72 to keep its perfect season alive.
