After eight innings of play, Emmanuel County Institute defeated Commerce 8-7 in game three to advance to the class A-Public quarterfinals. Benedictine’s boys soccer team shutout Thomasville 2-0 to advance to the class AA finals for a chance at back-to-back titles. After a scoreless game through regular time the McIntosh boys soccer team drained 5 of their penalty kicks to outscore Decatur, while the Lady Chiefs defeated Flowery Branch 3-2 as both teams advance to the finals. After being defeating 4-0 by Westminster during last year’s class AAA quarterfinals, Calhoun will have a shot at revenge as they advance to finals to face off against the Wildcats.
