Daijun Edwards, a senior running back at Colquitt County, is the GHSF Daily State Player of the Week for his performance in his team's 31-7 victory over No. 1-ranked Grayson in a Class AAAAAAA game Friday.

Edwards rushed for 104 yards and one touchdown and caught a 48-yard TD pass and broke the school records for rushing and touchdowns in a career. Edwards has rushed for 3,870 yards and 60 touchdowns, each mark eclipsing the totals of Sihiem King, who starred with the Packers from 2012 to 2014.

King, named by GHSF Daily in 2017 as the best player in Packers history, played four seasons at Kentucky. He finished with 3,781 yards rushing and 59 touchdowns at Colquitt.

Edwards (6-0, 205) is a top-300 national prospect and four-star recruit with offers from Florida State, Tennessee and others.

• Shiloh DL Jasheen Davis was in on eight tackles for losses and three sacks and had five QB hurries in a 42-12 victory over Lithonia.

• South Paulding WR Parker Self had 12 receptions for 235 yards and three touchdowns in a 49-0 victory over Northgate. It was Self’s second 200-yard receiving game.

• Bowdon RB Gage Stephens rushed for 244 yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries in a 27-21 victory over North Cobb Christian.

• Bradwell Institute QB Dariuse Cooper was 16-of-22 passing for 254 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 103 yards on eight carries in a 34-0 victory over Long County.

• Brookstone RB Sam Kilgore rushed for 146 yards and four touchdowns and caught a 47-yard pass in a 34-6 victory over Greenville.

• Buford LB Tommy Beuglas had 13 tackles and a sack in a 29-28 victory over Archer.

• Burke County QB Juan’ya Dove ran for 198 on 25 carries in a 49-34 victory over Effingham County.

• Carver (Atlanta) RB Jo’Quavious Marks scored five touchdowns and rushed for 193 yards on just 11 carries in a 58-0 victory over North Springs.

• Cedar Grove RB Chavon Wright rushed for 234 yards and two touchdowns in a 41-17 victory over Lovett.

• Central Gwinnett WR/DB Daejon Reynolds had seven receptions for 113 yards and 15 tackles in a 56-34 loss to Norcross.

• Crawford County QB Keith Colbert was 17-of-23 passing for 273 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for 107 yards and a score in a 42-39 loss to Hawkinsville.

• Creekside LB Khatavian Franks had three sacks and four other solo tackles in a 56-6 victory over Tri-Cities.

• Dalton RB Jahmyr Gibbs rushed for 223 yards (195 in the first half) on 28 carries in a 42-21 loss to Harrison.

• Darlington QB Griffin Brewster was 16-of-17 passing for 199 yards and three touchdowns in a 38-0 victory over Mount Zion of Carroll County.

• Denmark CB Justin Bradford had three tackles, one for a loss, and returned one punt and one interception for touchdowns in a 58-0 victory over Chestatee.

• Effingham County WR Randy Scott had eight receptions for 251 yards and two touchdowns in a 49-34 loss to Burke County. QB Zach Garcia passed for 322 yards and five touchdowns.

• Greene County RB/OLB Anterrious Elder rushed for 165 yards and two touchdowns on five carries in a 49-9 victory over Georgia Military. Elder also recorded a tackle and a pass breakup.

• Habersham Central LB Arian Curry had 10 solo tackles and four assists in a 34-19 victory over Franklin County.

• Haralson County QB Clay Hyatt rushed for 301 yards and five touchdowns on 24 carries in a 36-22 victory over Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe. Hyatt also scored two two-point conversions.

• Harrison DB Tommy Pollack had nine solo tackles, two behind the line, in a 42-21 victory over Dalton.

• Hart County RB Malachi Thomas had 91 yards rushing, 85 receiving and 65 returning and scored touchdowns in each category in a 56-13 victory over Jackson County.

• Hawkinsville RB Casson Clark rushed for 236 yards and two touchdowns, returned a punt for a touchdown and threw a TD pass in a 42-39 victory over Crawford County.

• Hiram LB Josh Martin had nine solo tackles — six for losses — in a 30-0 victory over Woodland of Cartersville.

• Holy Innocents’ LB Hunter Hawk had 11 tackles in a 31-0 victory over Wesleyan.

• Johns Creek QB Ben Whitlock was 14-of-19 passing for 297 yards and three touchdowns in a 42-28 victory over Northview.

• Johnson County RB Germivy Tucker rushed for 212 yards in a 40-20 victory over Treutlen.

• Macon County FB/DE Na'Qavious “Book” Wicker rushed for 115 yards and four touchdowns on eight carries, had three sacks, eight tackles and kicked two onside kicks that were recovered in a 34-28 victory over Taylor County.

• Marist FB/DE Lincoln Parker made a tackle on the Marist 2-yard line on a goal-line stand, then broke off a school-record 98-yard run in a 35-20 victory over White County.

• Mill Creek LB Jack Clayton had three sacks in a 58-0 victory over Duluth.

• Morgan County DE Criston Foster had nine tackles, three for losses, and two sacks in a 27-17 victory over Monroe Area.

• Mountain View DE Jeremy Tuider had five sacks, 10 solo tackles and a pass breakup in a 28-6 victory over Peachtree Ridge.

• Paulding County sophomore QB Brayden Mauldin passed for 233 yards and five touchdowns in a 42-31 victory over Villa Rica. The five TD passes tied the school record held by his brother, Brantley Mauldin, set in 2018.

• Peach County WR/DB Dorrian Smith had four receptions for 135 yards and a touchdown and returned an interception for a touchdown in a 77-14 victory over Kendrick.

• Pierce County RB C.J. Newton rushed for 220 yards and four touchdowns and had 37 yards receiving in a 42-28 victory over South Effingham.

• Putnam County sophomore QB/RB Cedrion Brundage was 17-of-32 passing for 248 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for 157 yards and a touchdown in a 74-57 loss to Union County.

• Rutland RB Jessie Phelps Jr. rushed for 193 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries in a 42-12 loss to Westside of Macon.

• Shiloh RB Arthur Rodgers rushed for 205 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries in a 42-12 victory over Lithonia.

• Strong Rock Christian WR/DE Hunner Lawrence rushed for 95 yards on three carries, caught two passes for 50 yards, scored two touchdowns, had three sacks and finished the game at quarterback in a 42-6 victory over Our Lady of Mercy.

• Tattnall Square freshman RB/CB Demario Wilmore scored a rushing touchdown, returned an interception 59 yards to set up another score, returned a kickoff 79 yards and recovered a fumble in a 47-6 victory over Twiggs County.

• Thomasville freshman RB Ricky Fulton rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries and had 199 all-purpose yards in a 28-18 victory over Cook.

• Walker RB/DB Keon Smart rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries and returned an interception for a touchdown in a 28-7 victory over Pinecrest Academy.

• Woodstock LB Andrew Bartolero had 15 tackles, three for losses, and broke up a pass in a 14-13 victory over North Forsyth.

• The Central (Carrollton) offensive line of Collin Jenkins, Ross Helton, DeShun Dobbs, Brock Gibson and Ethan Lee cleared space for 378 rushing yards in a 17-14 victory over LaGrange. The Lions had four backs rush for 80 yards or more.

• Emanuel County Institute's offensive line of Logan Tapley, Evan Durden, Zane Taylor, Rhett Harper, Reid Jones, Kris Jackson and Lawson Mercer paved the way for 498 rushing yards on 48 carries in a 50-16 victory over Jenkins County.

• Haralson County's offensive line of Lance Singletary, Beau Chaffin, Damon Blankenship, Eli Salmon, Colton Sanders, Zach Owens, Daniel Hartley and Caleb Hardeman opened holes for 430 yards rushing in a 36-22 victory over Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe.

• Harris County’s offensive line of Colby Dumas, Nick Richey, Christian Cotton, Kaleb Lowe, Spencer Gasaway, Nick Marien and Hunter Cantrell imposed it will in a 62-42 victory over Northside of Columbus as the Tigers produced 656 yards in total offense, 475 rushing. Talique Williams had 198 yards from scrimmage on 12 touches and scored two touchdowns and two conversions

• McIntosh County Academy’s offensive line of David Hulett, Matt Palmer, Tyrese Dixon, Zay Lawton, Stanley Rush, Spencer Rozier and Will Ryals paved the way for McIntosh County to rush for 307 yards while passing for 51 in a 28-21 loss to Calvary Day.

• Meadowcreek’s offensive line of Harry Torp, Josh Green, Cirillio Escandon, Daniel Gutierez and Darrius Gaddy controlled the trenches for a 378-yard rushing effort in a 42-0 victory over Lakeside of Atlanta.

• Norcross’ offensive line of Able Aguirre, Tripp Miller, Jaylen Williams, Pharoah Glenn, Quinton Bradford, Micah Green and Anthony Nelson led the way for 417 rushing yards on 46 attempts in a 56-34 victory over Central Gwinnett. Kaleb Jackson rushed for 168 yards on 11 carries.

• South Paulding’s offensive line of Jack Eason, Shaun Smith, Dillon Ward, Trent Knighting and Madden Sanker cleared a path for 583 yards of offense — 306 rushing, 277 passing — with no sacks in a 49-0 victory over Northgate.

• Union County’s offensive line of Drake Groves, Aaron Helton, Nathan Brooks, Lance Patton and Bobby Rogers helped the Panthers put up 720 yards of total offense — 426 passing and 294 rushing — in a 74-57 victory over Putnam County. Pierson Allison threw six TD passes. Kyle Morlock had 172 yards receiving, and Sawyer Drake had 161. Jonah Daniel rushed for 225 yards.
