Dalton's leading receiver and a backup have been cited by Dalton Police for marijuana possession and could miss Friday's game against No. 1 Valdosta, the Dalton Citizen reported Thursday.

Zeke Cobb, who has 45 receptions for 954 yards and 11 touchdowns, was one of the players, according to the newspaper. Cobb, a senior, is committed to Middle Tennessee. Clay Britton, a junior backup receiver, was the other, the paper said.

"Two players did break one of the policies contained within the Dalton High School Athletic Code of Conduct and will be disciplined accordingly," Dalton head football coach Matt Land told the newspaper, though he declined to identify the players.

According to the Citizen, police pulled over the sports utility vehicle in which Britton was driving on Tuesday evening at around 8 p.m. Cobb was cited for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. Britton was charged with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, distracted driving and use of phone while driving under 18.
